Give-A-Meal
St. Andrew members help support the needs of those who are experiencing food insecurity with monetary donations. A donation of $3.00 feeds a person in need for one day. Donations can be made in several ways. To give online, visit standrewdenton.com/give and choose Give-A-Meal from the fund options to the right of your monetary donation. Please write Give-A-Meal on the memo line if paying by check, or on the envelope if using cash. For more information contact coordinator, Anna Hendrix, abhendrix@verizon.net.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
St. Andrew hosts the largest Red Cross Blood Drive in the county every other month. The drive takes place in the Recreation Center from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Members of the community and St. Andrew members may register to donate at redcrossblood.org or through the Red Cross app. Walk-ins are also welcome. If you wish to assist in checking in donors, please contact the coordinator, Teresa Golden, tdg0010@unt.edu.
Diaper Drive
We will be collecting all sizes of disposable diapers, newborn to adult, during the month of September-October for Interfaith Ministries of Denton. Monetary donations will also be accepted online atstandrewdenton.com/givethrough the drop down menu, or by check marked Diaper Drive on the memo line. For further information please contact Anna Hendrix, abhendrix@verizon.net or call 940–368-5504.

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church will be hosting a free flu vaccination clinic with the support of the Texas Health Resources on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am. Members and nonmembers of St. Andrew are welcome to receive the shot so please tell your neighbors and friends about the clinic. Nurses from the Texas Health Resources Faith Community Nursing will be administering the shots to those nine (9) years old and older. Questions? Please contact Glenn Tolle, gtolle1@verizon.net or call 817-925-0588.
Our Daily Bread Outreach
The purpose of this ongoing drive is to collect items of immediate need for the clients of Our Daily Bread. Watch for announcements in The Shield and Sunday Bulletin for specific items that are currently needed. A needs list is also attached to the white collection box in the Narthex where items may be placed. Contact coordinator, Marc Brown, marcb727@gmail.com, with any questions.
The Treehouse After School Program
Housed in the St. Andrew rec center, the Treehouse After School Program is a mission of the church that provides affordable after school care for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch at four Denton ISD elementary campuses. We are able to serve up to 14 students each day, with children ranging in age from kindergarten through 5th grade.
HOW CAN YOU SERVE?
Snack Volunteers: Our daily snack, which is a very important part of the day, is provided by volunteers from the congregation. Snack volunteers are given a list of suggested snack options and are placed on a rotating schedule. Snack providers are generally scheduled to bring food 1 or 2 times per month. Snacks can be left on the designated shelf in the church office any time before 2:00 on your designated day. If you would like to be a snack volunteer, please contact Linda Heilig at l.heilig@verizon.net.
Reading Buddies: Many of our Treehouse students come to us reading below grade level. Reading Buddies are volunteers who come to Treehouse every Monday from 4:15-4:45 to read with our students. We started this program last year and saw huge success in strengthening students’ reading abilities. We also saw the development of beautiful relationships between the students and their Reading Buddy. If you would like to volunteer for this program, contact Stephanie Raesz, Treehouse director, at treehouse@standrewdenton.com.
Treehouse Assistant: We are currently seeking an assistant to the director. This is a staff position that would be ideal for anyone looking to work part-time or supplement their income, and who has a passion for children and service. Hours are from 2:30-5:30 most days, with some days being longer as determined by the DISD calendar. Pay is $15/hour. Previous childcare experience is preferred but not required. If you or someone you know is interested or has questions, please contact Stephanie Raesz as soon as possible by calling 940-297-9261 or emailing treehouse@standrewdenton.com.
If you have questions about the Treehouse program or ideas for other ways you would like to contribute, please contact Stephanie Raesz, director, at treehouse@standrewdenton.com.
